Do you still remember we had a fun-filled party with Kate & Robbie on Apr 10, 2011. Thanks for Vivienne Scott who invited these 2 famous choreographers to Toronto. Vivienne wrote an article about the event entitled Heroes Over The Pond, which was published on Linedancers magazine - June 2011 issue. Below is the extract of the article:
"...On the Sunday the incomparable Emily Woo and her helpers hosted a huge party for us in a Chinese restaurant just north of the city. Robbie & Kate taught an easy dance each then later in the evening the four of us taught ‘Dr. Flame’. Lots of Robbie & Kate dances on the floor and, again, the dancers were so happy to have the choreographers join them. I was honoured to have a number of my dances on the floor as well, and in addition Fred & I led ‘Blue Cha’ and ‘Latin Crazy’. These dancers sure dance, they started before 5 p.m. and didn’t finish until midnight. Some of the dancers rarely sat down so I think they must have absorbed their meal by osmosis!! ..."

Yoga Class Open House

Yoga is another form of exercise that is good for health. Raindrops Dance has organized a yoga class for beginners, which is to be held on Wednesday at Langstaff Community Centre. The instructor is Mr. David Chan.
Before class starts, there are two free classes, which will be held on Oct 5 & 12, 2011. Even you have not tried yoga before, come to join the free class.

Taste Of Lawrence 2011
Raindrops Dance has the honour to be invited as one of the performance sponsors at the Taste of Lawrence, which takes place on Saturday, Jul 9, 2011. A section of Lawrence Ave East between Warden Ave & Birchmount Rd will be selaed off for the event. Performace will start at 8 pm.
Raindrops Dance team will perform the opening dance. Also Emily will teach all the participants a dance. The event will be broadcast live on internet by Inix (www.inix.tv). Please come to join us to spend a joyful night in the summer. All ages are welcome.

Line Dance Open House For Very First Beginners - February 5, 2011
Try to trim body shape and make more friends. Line dance is a good choice. If you know nothing about line dance and want to try it, there is good news for you. A free line dance open house for very first beginners will be held at Langstaff Community Centre on Saturday,February 5, 2011. The open house is from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm.
Various basic steps of line dance will be demonstrated by Emily Woo, chief instructor and founder of Raindrops Dance. Of course, you will have the chance to dance together.

Donation To Rd3 Yee Hong Fund-raising Night 2010
The total donation raised for Yee Hong Wellness Foundation is C$30,568. It is so encouraging. Once again, Emily wants to express her deepest gratitude to those who made it happen.

Dance For Charity - Rd3 Yee Hong Fund-raising Night 2010
 | Christmas is coming soon. It's a joyous time. To share the joy with the seniors, Raindrops Dance is organizing a fundraising party for Yee Hong. The party is to be held at Thornhill Community Centre on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Ticket is $48.00 per person. Light refreshment will be provided. All the proceeds atfer deducting necessary expenses will be donated to Yee Hong. Tax deduction receipt will be given upon request.
There will be line dance workshop from 4 pm to 6 pm. We have the honour to invite Ms Christine Mui, Mr Thomas Tam & Ms Vivienne Scott (in alphabetical order to first name) to be the guest instructors for the workshop. The party starts at 7 pm until midnight. Besides line dancing, there will be some performances, karaoke, mini concert and lucky draw. All these events are backed by donations. New Line Dance Class For Beginners

If you want to do line dance but know nothing about it, this class for good for you. Starting from Oct 2, 2010, there is a new class, in which basic line dance steps and techniques will be taught. This class only lasts for 9 lessons and the instructos will be Ms. Emily Woo, Chief Instructor of Raindrops Dance, and Ms Queendy Lee, who will teach Hip Hop movements. Health Awareness Day 2010
Line dance is a good exercise to health. In order to encourage more people to take line dance as a form of exercise, Raindrops Dance is invited to perform at the Health Awareness Day, which is to be held at Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto on Sunday, Sep 12, 2010.

Time flies. Raindrops Dance was founded in 2005 and 2010 marks the 5th anniversary, which is a milestone for our group. Raindrops Dance is growing steadily. Now we have more than 200 students. After the party on Sunday, Apr 11, 2010, Vivienne Scott wrote an aricle entitled "Leapin' Into Spring With Dee & Craig". Below is an extract from the article regarding the party:
"...Sunday evening was party time with Emily Woo, together with her delightful helpers and dancers in the Toronto Chinese Line Dance Community. Emily has a huge following and, no wonder, as you can¡¦t help but have fun with Emily around! She is a ball of energy, a madcap and at the same time a most charismatic individual and instructor.
...Dee taught ¡¥When¡¦ and Craig ¡¥Standing In The Shadow¡¦. They and I together taught ¡¥Latin Crazy¡¦. In addition, maybe a slight exaggeration but it seemed that almost every other dance on the play list was one of theirs!! So they were constantly on the dance floor leading their dances including ¡¥Hush Hush¡¦, ¡¥Playing With Fire¡¦, ¡¥Footprints in the Sand¡¦, ¡¥Hands Up¡¦, ¡¥Too Close For Comfort¡¦, ¡¥Keep It Burnin¡¦¡¦ and so on¡K. A recipe for indigestion for sure, but it didn¡¦t seem to stop them enjoying the meal!
We were also treated to a number of Emily¡¦s dances. She has a huge success with ¡¥Nobody But You' and she recently joined up with Queendy Lee to choreograph the funky ¡¥Strong Baby¡¦ which might well repeat that success. It was a pleasure to watch Emily and her dancers on the floor, their sheer energy and enjoyment of dance is contagious. I was very happy to join them for ¡¥Do That Again?¡¦, ¡¥Turn Me On¡¦, ¡¥Sweet Little Things¡¦ and ¡¥Let¡¦s Chill¡¦. There is nothing better than dancing with smiling faces all around for sure! ..."

Thanks For Your Donation To Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund
A total of C$2,100 has been raised from the students of Raindrops Dance in only 2 days. The donation was handed over to the representative of World Vision Canada during the "Love To Save Haiti's Marathon Charity Benefit Performance" organized by Joe (¾G·q°ò), which was held at Pacific Mall on Saturday, Jan 16, 2010. A lot of Rd3's students did participate in the performance of Emily's latest choreography --- You're My Baby Girl. |  |

Donation To Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund
As you have undoubtedly heard, on January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, followed by several powerful aftershocks, struck off the western coast of Haiti, causing buildings to collapse in Port au Prince and creating chaos as people fled the damage.

Emily is the dance choreographer for the opening ceremony and leading the Raindrops Dance team to perform the dance. 100 seats are reserved for our students and fans. Team A & S (Andrew Palmer & Sheila Cox) & Lizzie Clarke, who are line dance instructors and choreographers from the U.K., will attend a workshop organized by Vivienne Scott at Toronto on April 4, 2009. Following the workshop, all of them together with Fred and Vivienne will join our party on the evening of April 5, 2009 (Sunday). The U.K. line dance instructors will teach some dances at the party. Without flying to the U.K., you can dance with them. It is a great chance not to be missed.

Raindrops Dance has the greatest honour to be one of sponsors of the event and will provide dancing arrangements for a couple songs of the show. Raindrops Dance Team on U.K.'s Linedance Magazine - Linedancer
In April 2008, Kim Ray and Robert Lindsay, U.K.'s well-known line dance choreogrpahers, came to Toronto for a workshop organized by Vivienne Scott. Raindrops Dance Team joined the workshop and took part in the welcoming party. In the party, Kim invited Emily and the Raindrops Dance team to perform the her new dance Diamonds with her. The performance received a lot of good comments.
Afterwards, Vivienne wrote an article reporting this event. This article was published on U.K.'s line dance magazine - Linedancer August 2008 issue, entitling Canadian Affair. On My Resignation From Mitchell Field Line Dancing Club Effective Sept. 24, 2008
I'm sorry I disappointed many of you who recently joined the Mitchell Field Line Dancing Club (class), looking forward to a fun-filled year with me; learning line dancing and achieving your exercising goal.
This line dancing class at Mitchell Field is one of my babies. Three years ago, membership of this Club came to its record low with only 2 members. I was called by its Committee Members to join and lead the class. I joined right away. I put in my heart and soul to make it grow. I worked hard, doing my best to teach and show every single step. Everything was done for the benefit of the Club; not for my own prosperity. It grew. I was so happy I can bring joy and happy times to so many who came and danced at the Club. Today, this Club takes in over 100 members annually.
Similar to what I have done in the past years, I have included this Wed. afternoon class in my Class Schedule for 2008-2009. Schedules were handed out to students who requested it. The Wed. afternoon class was specifically listed under Mitchell Field's name, with contact person as Ms. Edith. Immediately after the first class on Sept. 17th, I was ordered by the Committee Members to delete this Wed. class at Mitchell Field from my Schedule and my website. I paid for all the printing. I answered a lot of enquiries on behalf of Mitchell Field, free of charge. My thoughtfulness and my hard work have never been appreciated. A $60/$70 per afternoon pay are all that the Committee thought should be the return for whoever is teaching the class.
My passion for dancing, my desire to make everybody happy and my satisfaction in seeing so many of my students joyfully and beautifully grow in line dancing are more important to me than the minimal money I can earn from Mitchell Field; not to mention the slap on my face. I deserve the respect I earned. I am sad, but being treated the way I was, I decided to resign.

Refund For Line Dancing Classes At Mitchell Field C.C.
With Emily's resignation, a refund of $67.00 per student is available upon request. This is made up of full membership ($70) less 1 class fee ($3) for Sept. 17th. Return of Participation Tag (name tag) will also yield a refund of $5.
Please request your refund at Mitchell Field on Wed., Oct. 1st, at or shortly before class time.
Halloween Line Dance Party 2008
Summer is almost gone. Fall is at the corner. Halloween is not far away. Let's dance and have fun to celebrate it. We have organized a line dance party at Langstaff Community Centre on Wednesday night, Oct 29,2008 . The party is from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., $10 per person. Bottled water and snack will be provided.

To maintain your wellness, Raindrops Dance has organized a Healing Yoga Class at Parkview P.S., Unionville on Monday night, starting from October 6,2008. The class is hosted by Ms. Alice Cheng, who is a certified Yoga Teacher and Alternate Medicine Therapist.

Thank you to my students, friends and their families who joined me line dancing at the Taste of Asia 2006 street festival event. Sincere thank-you to my friends of the Hong Kei dance class who were there with us that night.
It was uplifting seeing other event participants, young and old, dancing, sweating and smiling under the evening light with all of us. I hope you had as much fun as me. We will see you again at the Taste of Asia 2007!

The Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM) and Rd3 Raindrops Dance will host line dancing at the event on:
June 24, 2006, Saturday, from 7:30 ?10:30 p.m.
We will be dancing at the intersection of Steeles Ave.East and Kennedy Road. This section of Kennedy Road adjacent to Market Village and Pacific Mall will be blocked off.
You will be joining other dancers swirling to the non-stop music and flowing in the moonlight.
There is no entrance fee! Bring your family and friends to enjoy this street festival.
